Norfolk County Economic Development welcomes Erica Grimes

We’re pleased to share the announcement of Erica Grimes joining Norfolk County as our new Senior Economic Development Officer.

Erica brings more than a decade of experience in economic development, business engagement, and communications. Prior to joining Norfolk County, she worked with the County of Brant on the Downtown Dig project, supporting the project through business retention and expansion, investment attraction, and business mitigation. She was also part of the County of Brant team recognized by the Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) and Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) in 2026 for award-winning work in business attraction, retention, and excellence in rural economic development.

Erica began her career path with the Downtown Belleville Business Improvement Area (BIA), and her professional journey has taken her through a variety of sectors, including education, radio, and hockey, before returning to economic development. She returned to the industry in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, where she supported initiatives related to foreign direct investment, tourism, housing, and the seafood industry. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about building strong partnerships, supporting business growth, and helping communities create opportunities for long-term prosperity.

Erica recently received her EcD designation at the Economic Development Association of Canada (EDAC) conference in Moncton, New Brunswick. She is excited to work alongside colleagues, businesses, and community partners across Norfolk County to support the community’s continued economic success.

Outside of work, Erica is always happy to talk hockey, hunt down a great craft beer, and cheer on the home team — preferably with both in hand.
