Get your pumpkins ready 

Meanwhile, Norfolk’s pumpkin patches are bursting with orange giants perfect for carving, baking, and decorating. Local farms offer everything from tiny decorative gourds to massive jack-o’-lantern pumpkins. Don’t forget about winter squash varieties like butternut, acorn, and delicata—perfect for warming fall soups and roasted veggie sides.

Our local farmers’ markets are now overflowing with autumn’s best offerings as harvest season peaks.

  • Simcoe Farmers’ Market, Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Port Dover’s Silver Lake Market, Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Port Rowan Farmers’ Market, Fridays, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Fresh corn, potatoes, carrots, beets, onions, and leafy greens are now available alongside late-season tomatoes and peppers

Harvest events in wine country

This is an excellent time to explore Norfolk County’s beautiful wine country as well. The vineyards are dressed in brilliant fall colours, creating breathtaking landscapes perfect for afternoon visits. Harvest season means special harvest events and cozy tasting rooms with seasonal warmth.
