Norfolk EcDev Welcomes Bryan Blue

Byan C. Blue is joining Norfolk County as a Senior Economic Development Officer, bringing over 20 years of experience in business development, economic development, government relations, and international program leadership.

Throughout his career, Bryan has built a strong reputation for driving investment, supporting local business growth, and fostering collaborative partnerships across public and private sectors. He has led strategic initiatives that enhance regional competitiveness, attract new investment, and support long-term economic resilience.

Prior to joining Norfolk County, Bryan served as a Business Development Manager with Destination Canada, where he successfully secured international business events and conferences that generated significant economic impact for communities across the country. He also held the role of Economic Development Officer – Trade and Investment with Niagara Region, where he led investment attraction strategies, supported export development through the Niagara Foreign Trade Zone, and worked closely with federal and provincial partners including Global Affairs Canada, Export Development Canada, and the Canada Border Services Agency.

Bryan is also an active community leader and volunteer, contributing his expertise to several organizations across the Niagara Region. As a member of the Niagara Industrial Association’s Advocacy Committee, he plays a key role in supporting the local manufacturing sector by translating industry challenges into actionable policy recommendations, advising on regulatory and economic issues, and helping shape advocacy strategies that promote competitiveness, workforce development, and long-term growth.

He also serves on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Niagara, contributing to strategic planning and organizational governance, and has previously supported community initiatives through roles with the Niagara Region’s Active Transportation Strategy Steering Committee and Community Crew, where he helped advance programs focused on community well-being and food security.

Bryan holds a Master of Economic Development & Innovation from the University of Waterloo and is a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP|FIBP). He is known for his people-first approach, strategic mindset, and commitment to delivering high-impact outcomes that strengthen communities and support sustainable economic growth.

In his role with Norfolk County, Bryan will focus on supporting the continued growth and diversification of the region’s economy, with a strong emphasis on advancing the County’s agricultural, manufacturing, and tourism sectors while building meaningful relationships with businesses, investors, and community partners.
